The Black Forest, nestled in southwestern Germany, is a mesmerizing expanse of dense woodlands, rolling hills, and charming villages. Famous for its lush, dark canopy of evergreen trees, it’s a hiker’s paradise. Visitors can explore its mystical beauty, discover picturesque lakes, and savor delectable Black Forest cake while immersing themselves in the region’s rich folklore and natural splendor.
Itinerary
We visit the following place (Not in this order)
- Triberg Waterfalls
- Cuckoo clock
- Heidelberg Palace
- Cologne Cathedral
- Plus other touristic places (time permitting)
Pick up from/around Amsterdam area and drive towards German border and stop en-route for 30 minutes for a coffee/tea/toilet break.
Than continue driving towards Rüdesheim Am Rheine, visit this quaint village and surroundings. We also go up on the cable car and view the river Rhine from the top of the hill.
Drive in direction from Rüdesheim towards Heidelberg where we visit the 13th century castle and its surroundings.
Continue in the direction of Black Forest area, en-route stop for photos, continue the beautiful scenic drive and reach our guest house, where we will be spending the night. After a short break at the guest house after being refreshed Time permitting (Optional) we depart for a drive in mountains for dinner to a village called Freudenstadt, drive back and night stay at the guest house with beautiful mountains surroundings.
After Breakfast at the guest house we start our drive in/around the Black Forest area. Next stop at the world famous Cuckoo clock area, here we visit the cuckoo clock shop, where they give us a small demonstration how it is made and knowledge about the clocks, (you can buy your clocks and other souvenirs here) after that our next destination is to visit Triberg waterfalls, after that a quick bite of lunch, and start the drive back to the Netherlands latest by 1300 hours.
